Comments: Huh.

I notice the same thing happens to me (stuff getting done) when my laptop or my wireless connection isn't working. Hmm. And yet when they ARE working, I can't seem to bring myself to just turn them off.

Oh, and you are totally not hearing this from me because I wouldn't want to be the cause of neglected kitties, dahlia beds, laundry, garages, and houses. But you can watch a lot of TV online. Hulu is a good source. If you have a Netflix subscription you can even watch movies online.

This is why I try to resist television mightily. I can't stomach much more than an hour a day anyway, so I just use my general laziness to get away with getting nothing done.

That said I woke up before the birds and set up the automatic cat feeder, did some dishes, read a book, did some stitching, read blogs, exercised and swept the floor before leaving for work this morning.

I hardly ever watch TV, but my house is messy, the lawn is overgrown, and there is a pile of dirty laundry waiting in the laundry room. I'd say you are ahead of the game.

Isn’t that amazing? Ever since I broke my wrist, my house has never been cleaner. All in all, I think I’d rather have the messy house and the knitting. Getting stuff done is overrated.

It's amazing, isn't it? Suddenly, there are so many more hours in the day, and when you get home isn't quite as important anymore.

I laughed out loud when I read kmkat's comment. I said, "Wait. Did I already comment to this post? I don't remember doing that."

Because, yeah. That's pretty much me.

Now you know the real reason I don't own a TV. People always think it's because I'm an intellectual snob. Um, no. The truth is that if I am anywhere near a TV I turn into a glossy-eyed, drooling idiot and nothing gets done.

Silly question, but did you rescan for channels?

Oh-oh. Yerp, I can relate. Every once in a while I resolve to have TeeVee Free Months. Weeks. Days. Oh crap....I am a weak person, I like my teevee. But in my own defense, I *always* write letters or blogs or knit - while watching. (Ehrm...except when the Housewives of Wherever It Is are on, but that's my filthy little secret and I'll deny it to the end.)

Ditto, Kristen! Remember when the female cat would go by and Pepe le Pew would be totally mesmerized and go floating away after her? That's me when TeeVee is on. I'm totally mesmerized and powerless to pull myself away. And so that's why I don't have TV. Can't turn it off. Can't ignore it.

I turned it off in 1993, but I spend all my spare time staring at the computer, and I have an amazing heap of videos to watch. At least I get to choose whether I watch commercials.
