Comments: Two Boxes of Kleenex Later...

Just getting back to work after pneumonia...I understand, oh so well. Wondering if I came back too soon in fact. I felt to uck to knit, if that says anything!

Glad you are feeling better...your sock inspires me, as always! :) L

Yikes - fer cryin' out loud girl! We already KNEW you were hot - you didnt have to go and prove it to us. Geez... You doing o-kay now? Cold better, burns subsiding?

The pictures are splendiferous as is the sock! I particulary like the chickadee and the pansies - just beautiful!

Now you just quit trying to increase that bust measurement. There ARE ways, but blisters aren't one of them :)

You're right, Robbyn; the one thing I forgot to mention was how I was feeling NOW. The burns are pretty fresh and still require some regular fussing over but other than that I feel fahbulous. When all was said and done, it was just a garden-variety cold, not pneumonia like what poor Lisa's got. (Get better, Lisa, so you can still come up and visit us next month!)

Harhar on the blisters and bust measurement, BTW. ;-)

I am so glad you are feeling better! It must have been THE weekend to be down. I've had a nasty nasty ear infection that sent me to the emergency room 3 times over the weekend. I'm sure there's a joke in there somewhere, but the Vicoden doesn't do funny. I too was sick enough that yarn held no fascination with me. None. Somebody shoot me, k? Thanks.

Anywho, yay! Our Blog mistress is back, although slightly bumpy and....ok, I am sooo trying not to think of your chest right now...*giggle* ok, so maybe Vicoden DOES do funny. I hope your blisters get better fast. I really do. I'll be up to stalking speed soon enough.

The sock is divine, the pictures are fab (Good job on getting the chikadee's good side TMK!)and congrats on obtaintaing your new-to-your-ownership camera. You have a very awesome snookums. I can relate. :o)

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Good grief: Not only did I miss the blog over Memorial Day weekend, but when checking it today, I discover there's been burnings and sickness and general discomfort all around. No more eating hot food on the couch for you, Ms. Ryan. Will we have to keep an eye on you when you have dinner at the Feral gatherings, too? (For those of you who don't get to the Feral gatherings--since we meet in a food circus court, Ryan will invariably get a plate of something delicious and proceed to savor it (she eats VERY slowly) while the rest of us knit away).

Thanks for the pansy picture--I love those flowers and I will be in touch about that garden tour soon!!! I have questions for TMK about mulching and weeding and stuff.... Those socks are cool, Ryan, and I've made Cascade 220 ones (not doubling the heel though) and they have worn quite well--only drawback is that they can't be machine washed, but the Cascade 220 responds well to a nice hand wash in shampoo. See you Monday at Ferals, Mary
PS my Feral vest has now been frogged AGAIN, but I haven't had the time or stamina to re-swatch and start over....maybe over the weekend....

Oh, Ryan! You poor, darling thing! Second degree burns are nasty (I did that to my feel last year on hot pavement). Get some Calendula gel. Boiron makes a good one and it works wonders on burns. I know everyone's concerned about your cleavage, but I can't help thinking about your wittle belly button. Youch!

Socks seem to be the topic du jour in blogland. Go check out the Harlot's!

I saw on Buffy that the Trio made a gun that makes folks invisible..oh, wait, the spammers are already invisible.

I'm so sorry about the burns. Once when I and Ed The Bolivian were driving down to Medford to see my sister (this was before the Gray) we stopped for coffee, which I placed between my legs (I was driving, and wearing shorts). Well, you can imagine the rest. The most embarrassing thing was having my BIL (a fireman, now a captain) look at it to see how bad it was, and apply aloe vera.

The socks are gorgeous, as usual. And your pansies might even outdo my poppies.

I bow to the technical prowess that shows not only a RED knitted object in all of it's glory, but a non-blurry shot of a chickadee, AND Diet Coke ala Andy Dubbelya.
Imagine if we knew what kind of camera that was.....or what TMK charges for glamorous knitted photo shoots.
YES, to the little things.
That's the POWER of LOVE.

First, to clear up a misconception: I DO knit at Feral Knitters...but only long enough to LOOK as if I'm participating and then I make a beeline for the food vendors. I think the slowness of the eating just comes from my reveling in the hedonism of it all: Great company, beautiful projects, fun conversation, huge plates of rich food, lots of laughs... I guess I figure if I just eat slowly enough, it won't end. (Doesn't work, BTW.)

Nathania, your comment about calendula gel made me (1) stop and think, because it's a good suggestion and (2) laugh because if you only knew how much calendula we have growing in the dye garden (everywhere, in fact, since that plant is the master of reseeding. We pulled it out by the handfuls, like grass, this spring). I also had a good giggle at the "belly button" image because, although the soup didn't actually get that far, I instantly imagined my belly button looking like a teeny-weeny bowl of soup with a tiny bit of broth in it and a couple of pasta stars floating around.

Sheila, loved, loved, loved--and winced mightily at--the story about the hot coffee. Some day I'll have to tell you about the time I sat down in some poison ivy in a bathing suit. Not fun, but definitely funny.

Angie, get well soon because my reputation as a blog mistress will suffer severely if I lose my stalker!

Greta and everyone, thank you for the lovely comments! TMK is glad you liked the photos. I'm sure she's out taking more, even as we speak.

I'm sorry to be laughing so much at your discomfort.... what a visual! I'm glad you are feeling better and the burns are under control.

Love the red sock. Aren't socks wonderful?

I was making a crazy trip up the coast in the middle of the night one time -- made myself a carafe of coffee, held the cup in my lap and tried to pour while driving. Hit a bump. The blisters formed in my lap kept me nicely awake for the rest of the drive. I feel your pain....

Glad you're on the mend! Thanks, TMK, for being the Cold Angel (doesn't that sound menacing? You know what I mean.....).
