Comments: Gittin' DOWN!

Ya know awhile back I mentioned I thought we looked a bit alike? Then I retracted and said, "mmm, no I guess we don't"? Well, that picture with the poncho stuck on yer head?? Yeah. that looks like me on a good day, chickie. :)

I am soooo jealous I can hardly stand it....Oh to be geographically close enough to such an event...sigh. Love the TMK shirt, ;) L

why, ryan- you look utterly 'sheik' in the poncho!!!

the gathering must have been grand- thanks for sharing the event-sigh-

stay happy-

Lisa cracks me up. But really, Ryan, think of the hair care products you'd save on if you had to live with that thing on your head for the rest of your life. You could spend all the money you saved on purple hooker nail polish! It ain't fair. You had so much fun, and second brownies were allowed. *pout*

Norma, I have graduated to navy blue--yes, navy blue--hooker nail polish. It matches my car; what can I say?

Warning! The following message is completely unrelated to knitting. ;-)

Mary, did you read today that Bob Melvin is gone!? M's management waited too long in my opinion. They also let go all the senior coaches except Bryan Price. I was surprised, though, that they let Dave Myers go.

Hmmm. Manager Edgar, perhaps?

Any hostess who provides (or ensures that there will be provided) BROWNIES is A-1 in my book!

I've seen that Eighth Wonder, isn't it amazing? I almost went straight home and ordered one. Then I came to my senses, not because I didn't still want one, but because I have nowhere to put it and no spinning events to take it out to.

TMK,
Manager Edgar-- it sounds right.

Ryan,
Have you ever seen the photo of Whoopie Goldberg with the blouse on her head? We did that when I was a girl in West Philly:-))

Posted by Debra at October 4, 2004 12:51 PM

Debra, THANK YOU! I had been scratching my head trying to figure out what that picture reminded me of, and you hit it right on the nose. LOVE that skit of Whoopie's. Bittersweet, funny, fabulous!

HEY, how did this baseball stuff creep into the blog? (Feh. Probably the same way woodworking, pictures of the Concorde, and microbes did.)

Posted by Ryan at October 4, 2004 01:06 PM

Ryan- btw.. if you want a really nummy brownie recipe, just email me. It is how I got my last grrrl to date me. And she even says she'll keep me if I just keep making those brownies (for special occasions only, of course)

loved the pics. I bet Frankie got extra love that day too. sounds like a fabulous time.

Thanks for the update, TMK! I went immediately to the Mariners site to read all the dirt. No surprise, though. I'm not sure Edgar is ready for managerial duties, but perhaps! Saturday night's game was oh, so sweet and even got me a little teary eyed.

Our knitting soiree was absolutely fun--we'll do it at my house next--I'll let y'all know when.

Shit--I just realized, I only had one brownie!!

Mary, not to worry. The "update" I added a little while ago will explain why you only ate one brownie. You can't help it.

I have always had a certain respect for a person whose nailpolish matches their car - I think it goes back to Prince and his little red corvette. I ride a bicycle - any manicure suggestions, do I match to my bike or my helmet? Oh, maybe they should match, for starters.
And if anj has a relationship-cementing brownie recipe to share...

ryan, you look like a refugee from some obscure middle eastern country ;-)

Uh! Ya'll sho do know how to paaarTAY! Hope the neighbors didn't call the po-lice cuz the *clickin' and smackin of lips* wuz too loud.

Cuzzin Tom, I guess I forgot to mention the loud acid rock and rap we played throughout the entire afternoon. :-)

The brownie recipe that Anj is touting is indeed a powerful one. If Anj does share it, and you decide to use it, be aware that serving it to a single person may cause him/her to look at you in a very different way... and if you were single, you may not be much longer.

I speak as one who had a brownie on the first date as a single person... and have been happily coupled with the brownie baker ever since. :)

Happy with her brownie baker (and knitter-knatter),
Sue

Wow, even a testimonial from Anj's better, uh, I mean, other half! Those must be soooooome brownies! Although, in truth, I understand. I think TMK's and my 17, almost 18, years together may have something to do with the home-made spaghetti sauce she made the first time she cooked for me. But she lost some points when she decided to be super-efficient and whisk my plate away and slap it in the dishwasher before I had even finished eating. Things continue pretty much the same to this day.

OK, what're ya'll really putting in those brownies that we have to have this "just say no" campaign? I mean, take another look at Ryan's-improvised-shawl-as-headdress photo. Has the time come, perhaps, for a Mossy Cottage intervention?
