Too much talking...

Last night I attended a fair isle knitting group and met the lovely Janine Bajus. Janine is one of the most knowledgeable fair isle knitters I've ever met, and was working on a design of her own based on a Turkish coat in lovely shades of rose and rust (?) and a beautiful coordinating border of just the right shades of green.

Other, new to fair isle, knitters were interpreting the Lichen waistcoat from Folk Vests in their own colorway. It was a fun and inspiring meeting, and I look forward to the next one. I got a whole.... 5 rows done on my Saga Rose sleeve. Too much talking, not enough knitting?

Before we went to the gathering, Karen brought over a newly arrived huge box of Spindrift and we fed the hungry Wall O Spindrift. It still has some empty spaces, but far fewer than it did! It is dangerous to stand before the Wallospindrift for too long-- your head starts to spin with possibilities!

Little Sherlock has learned what "Slippers" means now. When mommy calls for her slippers, he runs to find one and brings it back, but then it is a battle between the foot and the poodle. Unfortunately, when she calls for the second slipper, he attempts to take the first one off her foot. I'm so proud :-)

You make me blush! It was a fun evening--I truly enjoyed meeting you and Kit as well as seeing what the other knitters were doing. Your Saga Rose is lovely. I am now inspired to FINISH my Autumn Rose jacket.

A wall of Spindrift! Oh my, what a thought... Can I change my answer to the question about what I'd do with $300?

For any and all knitters interested in two-color stranded knitting, join us. Our next two meetings are set for Monday, December 29th and Monday, January 12th, both at Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park, at 6:30 (P.M.,naturally!).

The Wall o' Spindrift makes your head spin? Funny, it makes mine drift -- to the Sandness sweater I should be knitting, and the Alba sweater, and Hillswick Lumber, and and and . . . .

Sherlock is so funny, Sheila. How much fun that he knows what a slipper is. I think if I asked one of my dogs to go get my slippers, they'd probably go drink from the toilet and then take a nap. We've never had much luck with "named retrieves" (except for 'stick' - that is the one that they know).

Is it okay for me to thank you again for the SQL blog. I've been using it daily for a project and it has been extremely helpful. I feel only slightly overwhelmed with my project instead of completely overwhelmed.

Janine, I can't wait to see that sweater finished!

And Mary, it's my turn to apologize for not posting more to the sql blog lately. I'll get back to it. There's tons more to say, but I'm glad it's helpful. Sherlock actually got me my slipper this morning *before* I asked! He still doesn't qet the concept of the second slipper, but maybe some day....!
