Queen Ginger is so appreciative of the arrival of her new throne. Sherlock has agreed to be her able page as long as she promises not to sit on Madame's lap any more. Note the subservient pose of the page, waiting for his next command.

We are pleased with the new dining room furniture, but are fairly certain that it grew larger while on its voyage from the Land of Furniture, otherwise known as South Carolina. The set does not fit into the dining area space. Therefore the dining room space shall soon become the piano space, and we will play musical furniture room. In the meantime, as usual, all is chaos.
Yes, this is it. The Thing that inspired a sweater. Let's compare them, shall we? I had not seen the chair since we picked it out in the store, and I haven't looked at the design in a while either.

Hmm... I think it could inspire a couple of more designs, don't you?
I survived my 44th birthday on Friday and am pleased to say that no great adversity visited itself upon me for the occasion. My gift from the Great Gray? Well, after a bit-- no, a lot, of "persuading" and "influence" and "nagging?" from all my wunnerful, wunnerful knitting buds on the other side of the Nation, I am going to attend, for the second year in a row... (drum roll, please)... the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival. Now that I know what to expect, I expect to have great fun again but also not be so wiped out. That three-hour time difference really makes a, um, difference.
Though I have not taken pictures yet, there is cause for celebration. The back of DaCapo is finished!! Only this could have driven me so out of my mind with the boredom of endless garter stitch that I would actually try -- and succeed!-- to read and knit at the same time. The material? Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Tales of the Slayer No, this is not erudite, beneficial or stimulating reading. In fact, some of the stories (it is a compilation of short stories by various authors) are poorly written and less than interesting. But it beats knitting endless garter stitch by itself.
DaSocko has progressed beyond the heel and I am ready to start the second sock-- DotherSocko. Karen W, I don't know what color this Barefoot is, because it was without a label. I'm willing to call it Lupine if it looks like yours though!
Oh! Can I tell on Papa G again? Some of you may identify.... Yesterday Papa asked for his Sunday honey-do list. Because we are having to shift furniture around throughout the house, and because I am still painting, a fairly complex project plan had to be made to determine the order in which things have to be done. On Saturday I spent much time figuring this all out. When Papa asked for his list, I gave him two items that needed to be done, and then showed him The Plan. The Plan, you see, needs the brawn of two or more strong men. We discussed this need a little, discussed my reasoning, discussed his agreement with my reasoning, etc. And then? Says the Gray One: "Well, what you need to do is make up a plan on how we can do all this and then I can try to find some help."
Huh?
It's a sunny Monday in Happy Holler, and times a'wastin'. I've got painting to do, dogs to walk, and house to clean. And tonight we Feral Knitters get together at 3rd Place Books in Lake Forest. If you're into Fair Isle knitting, join us, why dontcha?

Posted by: Louise on March 9, 2004 01:59 AMNow that the inspiration is there will we see more of the Chippendale design, was that the name?
Happy Day late!
Thanks you guys, and happy birthday to Louise and Tami too! Chris, I'm waiting for more yarn in the blues to continue with Chippendale, but yes it will certainly get more attention when that arrives. It gets me excited that other people are excited about it.

Posted by: Fast Wares on September 5, 2004 02:50 AMI rarely speak in absolutes when discussing texas holdem, but it is absolutely worth the study. Texas holdem is a people game played with cards, not a card game played by people, at least once you get out of the penny-ante level.
