An updated picture of LaJ:

And evidence that Ginger really wants to be a star... Brad took this picture this morning, it was supposed to be of me:

Hi Sheila! I think that is a fabulous picture. Of both of you. The depth variance between the foreground and back is wonderful. You both are stunning!
Posted by: Victoria Hamilton on February 11, 2003 11:14 AMHi Victoria, and thanks! I'm trying to get used to the new, more "matronly" me. Needless to say, the gym and I haven't seen a lot of each other lately. Ginger looks slimmer in the background... perhaps we just have exchanged positions :-)
Posted by: sheila on February 11, 2003 12:02 PMSheila - What a great picture! How do you keep your house looking so clean with all of the animals?! So, do you think you'll have Lajunianne ready to wear at SW? :-)

Posted by: Mary on February 11, 2003 12:37 PMCan you say "Maid Brigade"? :-) It's the best thing I ever did for myself, was getting them to come in every week-- and they'll have to pry it from my cold dead hands or in bankruptcy court before I let it go!!
As for LaJ being ready for SW -- HA! -- maybe in 2004!
Posted by: Sheila on February 11, 2003 01:50 PMDear Sheila,
You are just making this LaJ look TOO easy! I know just how complex it is....but boy, it looks wonderful. You look great and so does the Kitty on the step..Thanks for the picture.
Hugs

Hi Junieann,
It's looking great, I'm amazed that I'm not struggling with it more. There is one little tiny part that is gapping between stitches for about 3 rows, but I think I'm prventing that from happening any more by making sure to weave the background color in with every single color change.
Are you watching the Westminster Dog Show? Our herding group will be on tonight!! I'm not sure which group the Standard Poodle will be in, but Harvey has been watching the show just as intently as we have. Grazzi only pays attention when the announcer talks to the dogs... Harvey thinks he's a person, I guess that's the difference!
Posted by: Sheila on February 11, 2003 04:16 PMThe Standard Poodle is in the Non-Sporting group. This makes the group very difficult, because how can any dog compete with those "fancy" poodles! Spencer and I always watch the non-sporting group and root for the Chinese Shar-Pei, but the poor guy never has a chance!
Spencer is part (mostly?) Shar-pei, so he tries to root for the home team!

Posted by: Mary on February 11, 2003 08:07 PMWhat do you mean "more matronly" you? (maybe there's history to that statement that I don't know?!) That is not at all how you look. You're just cute!
Posted by: Victoria on February 12, 2003 10:32 AMThe sweater is looking fab.
And, fwiw, that standard poodle scared the crap out of me. My grandparents had an apricot standard when I was growing up, a real show dog of some exquisite proportion that they stopped showing because apparently it's really expensive to hit the circuit (he was a popular stud, tho, for his lineage and form).
He was a great pet and got a 'puppy strip' a few times a year to keep the fur manageable. From my kiddie perspective, he was as much a knock-around family dog as the mostly german shepherd mutt and it always just gives me the heebie-jeebies to see them in show cuts because, well, they're not Fifi dogs (or they don't have to be)!!
