The camera got a nice workout yesterday. The brilliant thought occurred to me that if I took it down to the Parlor with me, I could take pictures whenever something inspired me.... what a concept.
The Knitting
First of all, the dammit knitting continued and here we are, ready for reindeer:

The truly wonderful thing that finally happened to me? I started to knit without looking! I thought I would never get to this point! I've tried so very many times, thinking that if others could do it so could I, but it just didn't happen. Maybe it was the Stoly Gold martini with caperberries; maybe it was the miles and miles of stockinette I was knitting; maybe it was just the pre-ordained time, but after 43 years, 1 month, 21 days and some odd hours, I finally got the hang of it.
I began to think of my needles differently. The lefthand needle is a stationary shaft. The righthand needle is a piston. It goes up through the loop on the left needle, while I loop my yarn around it, down slightly, up again and right and down and to the left to start the circle over again. Up, around, down, up-right, down-left repeat ad nauseum. Fascinating.
The Parlor
Once again, I was wrong. Brad's change to the Parlor made it quite nice. I had thought that his proposal would make the room seem small and crowded. Instead, it has the effect of creating two rooms: the Knitting Parlor:

and the Magical Movie Theater:

If you look down the hall past the theater, you see the door to the Yarnitorium which actually can be entered now that I created the OSA (Overflow Stash Area):

What does Brad do in the Magical Movie Theater while the Madame is knitting? Normally it looks something like this:

The Zoo
There was slight confusion yesterday as to sleeping arrangements. Mommy's feet aren't bad, but she often moves them.

Here's a bed! Wait a minute.... whose bed is this, anyway?

Even though that bed was purchased especially for Sherlock, Jojo stays put:

So what can a puppy do? I know! Let's take over the catnip basket Mommy got for the cats! But wait a minute.... here's a green Montera WIP she never finished cuz she though it was ugly. It smells like her and if I just get it into the right position...

.... ah, there. Now would everyone just go away and let me sleep. Please?

Time for Inspection
Young man, you've got to keep your chin up!

Okay, let's test your athletic ability. When I say three, see if you can make the basket! Eins, zwei....

My, what big eyes you have!

Are you my Mini-Me?

Heh. You're not so bad.... let's shake.

All right, let's get Dad now... who needs this silly racoon?

Absolutely wonderful photo journal. Thanks for sharing it with the world. I bet Brad thanks you, too.
Knitting does cure all ills.
Janet
heehee.... he did think it was funny :-) He did such a great job on the paint I was happy to show it off, too. The pets are just natural hams-- Ginger laid low last night, but she was there watching.
