Camel on the Desert

More painting done, and here are the results of the Parlor end of the basement. The Theater end will have to wait, I'm afraid. I not only painted but also rearranged, moved lots of stuff out and generally reorganized. I hope my big handsome nephew appreciates all this! He will be housesitting and I'll wager spending most of his time downstairs with the XBox, a couple of cats and a dog.

Ginger inspected everything carefully, then made herself right at home. Do you see her?

I had aimed for a rosy shade of terra cotta for the fireplace, but ended up more rose than terra cotta. The funny thing was that the shade is called Sahara Rose. Funny because I was using leftover paint for part of the trim, the name of which turned out to be Camel. I don't know who names these colors. I've never seen a sickly yellowish-green camel in my life, have you? At any rate, camels of that color will have to cross a rosy Sahara.

The baseboard and window trim are a slightly different shade of yellowish-green called Quiet Verandah. I may try this for the master bedroom, it's a really nice color.

Bored yet? I honestly did nothing more fibery that spin a little more Ashland Bay at the end of the day.

Great colors! Unusual, but not jarring - and very warm and inviting.

Looks great!! I love the color combo. Of course a knitter would have a good color sense when it comes to paint! I always get hung up on the names of the paint colors too. I once painted a table a shade of chartreuse because I liked the name of the paint color-- I think it was Mardi Gras or Carnivale or something like that.
