What do you do with a Drunken Poodle?

ShoulderShawlonLamp.jpg

The shoulder shawl is progressing, though as you can see, it challenges me to find a good way to display it. I'm not sure this particular doily pattern is the best for a shoulder shawl-- it may be a bit too holey, what with the double yarnovers. Live, knit and learn!

Cryptic Note: It was a real treat Saturday to finally meet the Magnificent M, whom I feel compelled to mention because it is such a relief to see a young person these days who isn't afraid to use his brain and isn't afraid to follow his own nature but does it all with quietness and respect. I couldn't convince him to write a blog, though. Here's to you, M, and to your mother, who lets you be you!

Quilting Broads recommenced yesterday and I patiently bore the good-natured jibing about how quickly I caved into making a flower garden. Next time I'll try to remember to take my camera so you can see the amazing quilts these gals are making. You can see some things that QB Liz makes by taking a gander at her blog, Scrap Basket.

My own hexagons have expanded past the capacity of the bracelet box, so I've moved them to a plastic organizer, casting away its previous contents into the hellhole that is the yarn room.

I began stitching them together, whipstitching the edges outside the card and then, after all surround hexagons were attached, removing the basting and the card. Here's a closeup of the back:

Grazzi survived the fireworks and luckily it rained last night, forestalling any further adventures by law-ignoring citizens in the neighborhood. I've been bringing Grazzi and Harvey into the house in the late afternoons in order to spend more quality time with them. Last night I was having an Irish Painkiller (Jamieson's/Bailey's). I left the Parlor to refill their bucket of water. Upon my return, what did I see? A giant poodle daintily slurping my IPK. I told you he thinks he's a person! I took away his car keys.

What?
No pic of the drunken poodle?

:)

Interesting quilting adventures, but I've got so much on my plate that I can't even read about yet another fiber art. sigh. Maybe when I'm old and grey.

oops... I'm already grey!

well, we may be gray, but the knitting/spinning/weaving etc. keeps us young!

That's for sure!

Sravana, Harvey didn't really get enough of the drink to affect him, but the thought of it is pretty funny. I can imagine him running around singing 'I'm a Yankee Poodle Dandy' .

me: actually laughing out loud at the thought of Harvey drunk and singing.

Yankee Poodle Dandy. Amazing. I'm surprised that I've never thought of that one!

I'm sad today - I just took my beloved Ms. B to my friends' house, where she will be for 9 days whilst I travel. (Oh, pic of her at my URL). We were a grooming whirlwind recently, so she looks nice, but the pic is from a while back when she had more coat. It's too hot here for coat!

(I'm rambling. I think I'll go now.)

Hi. I just found your blog (through a google search for appliques) and love your project pics so far! I just finished piecing together my first patchwork project a few days ago. Yours seems endlessly bigger, though. Mine was only about 60 pieces, but I felt like it was going to take forever! Now, I have to make it into a purse...

Good luck! I'll be posting pics of mine soon, so stop by!
