Yes, it is. From Carol Leigh's Hillcreek Fiber Studio, bought in May at the Maryland Sheep & Wool festival. Very pretty. Very pink. Very cashmere. And Very fine. Too fine, in fact, for the Lily of the Valley shawl (Knitter's Summer 2004, by Galena Khmeleva), as it turns out. So instead I'll use, in a true lily of the valley color, Artisan NZ laceweight that I purchased several years ago. My trusty knitting advisor, Kit, was pleased that it has more bounce, which she feels (and I agree) that the Lily of the Valley shawl needs.

So what is to become of our pink cashmere? Possibly the Garden Shawl. We shall see.
Meanwhile, garter stitch drones on and one of Mermaid's sleeves is just over half done.

Oh *sure*. Mock my pink cashmere lust.

Posted by: Nathania on August 22, 2005 07:01 AMReading blogs sure can be an emotional roller coaster ride. I was in the middle of a big belly laugh over something someone else had written on their site when I clicked on your site and immediately fell all quiet and awe-inspired by the beautiful pink cashmere. Yep, a roller coaster ride. A wonderful one.
Posted by: Ryan on August 22, 2005 08:40 AMYou have a real way with a camera! The picture of the pink cashmere with the little ceramic bird is wonderful - gives it scale, and is just a charming composition!
Posted by: Katie on August 22, 2005 01:23 PMHi, your knitting is lovely! I am jealous of the pink cashmere. :-)
I ran across your site because I was looking for some patterns by Eugen Beugler, and I see you have a picture of him and some of his lacework in an old blog entry. I am working on a website for the Lacy Knitters Guild, and Gene is a longtime member. Would it be alright for me to use those pictures on the Guild's website? Gene is looking charming there.
The post I am referring to is:

I'd be delighted, please use the pictures. I also am in a Lacy Knitter's Guild and will look forward to your new site. Thanks for asking!
Posted by: Sheila on August 23, 2005 08:33 AMThank you! We are hoping to have the website go "public" in time for an announcement in the Autumn newsletter. I also posted a couple pictures Gene sent me of a pattern he just knit. He's such a wonderful knitter.
