As Good As It Gets

I am rich in so many ways.

I am rich in the Dulaan-y way. 17,376 times in the Dulaan-y way.

I am rich in the family-y way since I just spent an unexpected yet wonderful half-hour yakking and laughing on the phone with Big Sister.

I am rich in the peach-y way, thanks to TMK's mother, who arrived yesterday bearing gifts of gold, picked from their tree:

I am rich in the yarn-y way, thanks to KT, a guest at the Cuzzin Tom/Seattle Brigadier Bash, who arrived at the party bearing gifts of gold. And pink. And green.

Rich, rich, rich. Which is what I keep reminding myself and reminding myself and reminding myself as I knit, frog, knit, frog and knit again the ultimate in dull—ribbing, black ribbing, black ribbing on size 0’s for the Transylvania Hat. When this all comes together it’ll be worth it but, oy. All of you designers out there, my hat’s off to you. Or it would be...if I hadn’t just frogged it again.

Red Cross Report: Frankie is doing much better, TMK is improving slooooowly—although she’s not too sure about the big cone I put around her neck. It makes it hard for her to get through doors.

Oh wow. Those peaches look scrumptious! The yarn looks scrumptious too!

I'm cracking up about the red cross report. I can just see TMK having a hard time getting through the doors with the cone you put on her neck. Oh, you must mean you put that on Frankie!?? :) LOL.

Those cones'll get you every time. I always tell clients to make sure their breakables are put away in a safe place.

Ryan, could you put me in touch with the Girl Scout Leader who put on the Dulaan Thinking Day? I want to do the same for my Service Unit (30 troops), and (being a lazy prat) I would like her advice and input.

So glad to hear TMK and Frankie are doing better - like everyone else I giggled at the cone remark -- but DANG those peaches - I am drooling - it will be a while before they are out here - but those looked so perfect they looked like a still life painting. Enjoy them --- and peach ice cream from them - OMG wouldn't that be heaven.

Those fresh peaches look soooooo delectable -- and I don't even like peaches. The yarn too looks delectable. I see it in smallish blobs separated by black lines so it looks like stained glass, sort of like this:

except Julia's will be felted and yours is superwash. But I love it any way you knit it.

It must be awfully hard to eat with one of those cones on, especially if it is big enough to make it hard to go through doors. Do you have to use one of those extending arms like they had in the old Bugs Bunny (and Tom & Jerry, et al) cartoons?

Glad everyone is feeling a bit better.
It is good to realize the simple riches in life. When you stop and think about it that's where true happiness lies. I'm going to organize my stash. And make sure we go out for ice cream tonight. We are lucky the last local dairy opened their own ice cream stand. It is the best! I'm getting peach!
