Mental Meanderings

Ahem.

And a picture for Erika, whose cat does this, too. He got under the jacket himself, and then carefully put his white hairs on the dark things and his dark hairs on the light things because he's smart that way.

Now, all of you, raise your hands and swear on all that is holy to you that you never saw the black thing draped on the left of the laundry basket, which happens to be a pair of my underwear. Clean and Downy-fresh, but still, underwear. The things we will do for blogging.

There’s done…

And there’s done done:

Granted, this sweater is now very hardware-heavy and the kid’ll never make it through airport security without being frisked by two burly men, but it’s the best I could find.

You never know where or in what form small truths and inspirations will come from. Recently, local knitter, friend and blogger Supergirl Knits wrote about ruining one heart-rate monitor and getting a new one. In conclusion, she wrote, “I learned that if you ruin something, you can get something shiny and new that works faster and better than what you had before.” While I would argue that I didn’t do the ruining, this seems to apply very much to my current journey. Perhaps someday I, too, can have something shiny and new that works faster and better. And has something to do with my heart rate, but probably not the way Supergirl was thinking.

"Perhaps I, too, can have something shiny and new that works faster and better."

Absolutely! And if you don't mind, I'm going to borrow your idea.

Isn't it nice when the cats remind you that the houseplants could use a repotting? ;)

LMAO at the shiny and new thing.
Also, if you hadn't pointed out the skivvies, likely none of us would have noticed.

yay for romance!

I do predict a Shiny & New for you, which will come armed with laughter and delight. (And I got mine about the time I realized I really enjoyed my OWN company!) Also, regarding cats: they have a secret understanding among every single one of them. Laundry baskets, especially those filled with clean (and ideally still warm from the dryer) are Where You Want to Be. It's right up there with lying-on-what-you're-reading, stepping-on-keyboards and watching you in the bif. The DH refers to those little annoyances as "the joys of pet ownership".

I dare say you were drawing attention to the skivvies on purpose, but that's just me.

Cats are just gifted that way, sweater's beautiful, and shiny and new (oooh, be careful of the "faster"!) could be just around the bend.

Well you didn't really need that plant did you, now that you have Benny and June... just pick out one plant that hides in your skivvies....ha - see....

Glad to see you on the mend. Are you going to OFF? A bunch of us are. Maybe we will see you there.

Kitties. So helpful.

Our long haired kitty is gray and white. He is also capable of marking every item of clothing we have. He is sure that is part of his household duties.

As for a baby worrying about airport security, yeah I would like to see a guard checking a baby diaper, I think that would slow a guard right down.

I have two cats one is a calico and the other is a muted calico...we never leave the house without somekind of cat hair! If you find a way to get the shiny and new promise to let us in on it!

Are those your underwear or are they really the trademark Rabbitch sleeping mask?

There's a couple of photos over on my blog which feature something white oh-so-artfully draped over the side of the laundry hamper. I chose not to point it out to folks ... until now. How embarrassing!

Moral: We all do it.

Yea to the kitty who puts the hair everywhere. It's better than kitty barf everywhere--including the not-so-clean-anymore laundry fresh from hanging on the line.

And shiny and new? You betcha you'll find it. When/where you least expect it I dare say.

Your picture of the cat made me long for the days when the cats were the worst thing that could happen to my knitting and embroidery.

That was back before the dogs.

Yesterday Rhys got out and ran all around the street and into people's back yards, at one point picking up a fuzzy bunny slipper...oh wait, I better blog this....
