Hot-water bottle waits
To warm my icy toes
But thieving cat wins.

[Comments arbitrarily working again. Have at.]
Does the cat win as warmth-provider or warmth-snatcher?
Posted by: Swapna on December 7, 2009 08:54 PMGood point, Swapna. Must change the haiku; it's not saying what I want at all! [Update: Did change it a wee.]

Momma cat must sacrifice
Reward is mighty purr
Hmph. If my cats want to sandwich my toes between them and the hot water bottle, fine, but outright thieving is not allowed. They may want the warmth, but I need it.

A water bottle disguise
Warm sheets before sleep
(Of course, I would prefer all of the sheets to be warm, not just the cat shaped lump at the foot of the bed.)

Warmed feet for many winters
Ay! A hole appears!
teehee....they are heat seekers, aren't they?

Lying in bed
Cat sleeping on thighs
Movement not allowed.
This coulda been a Haiku contest - and all winners.

The same, yet not the same

Feet go under cat.
Oh, wait until he sticks his claw through the rubber - what a special time!
Posted by: Anna on December 13, 2009 05:14 AMOh, the hot water bottle is so much better under the covers, the furry ones tend to attack moving toes. Good luck getting it back.
